A retro-fittable lighting control device, which can be used as part of a cost effective system that can offer significant lighting energy cost savings in existing commercial buildings. Used in conjunction with wall mounted local light switches (momentary 'Bell Press' type) and a centrally located control panel, without the need for extensive re-wiring of existing lighting circuits.
Lighting groups (in a cellular office, for example) can be automatically switched OFF via the central control panel and manually controlled ON or OFF via the local light switches. The unit incorporates an electronic circuit that switches up to 6A of fluorescent light fittings OFF when the 240VAC supply to a lighting circuit is pulsed OFF and back ON again over two seconds.
This OFF pulse sets lighting to the OFF state until users turn the lighting in their vicinity back ON again from their local press light switch. The central time based control of lighting circuits can be provided by an existing Building Management System, a Clipsal C-Bus System or a time clock which can provide a two second on/off pulse. |
